Torah Studies is a continuation of work on the intersection of Jewish and Garden themes Nomi Kaplan has been pursuing since 2000. This group of work includes Shadows, Garden and Tzitzit. Kaplan reveals a whimsical yet respectful attitude toward Jewish images drawn from her own background and tradition.
Working with various materials (some found only in toy stores), Torah Studies is a reflection of the Jewish way of dealing with prejudice and pain through humour. Torah Studies consists of photographs as well as three-dimensional wire mesh installation pieces.
